How to Install

🛠️ Materials & Tools Needed

  • Bird strike prevention window film (e.g., perforated dot, trellis, or vertical line patterns)

  • Spray bottle

  • Mild soap (such as baby shampoo)

  • Squeegee (preferably with a felt edge)

  • Razor blade or utility knife

  • Measuring tape

  • Lint-free microfiber cloth

  • Scotch tape (for liner removal)

  • Hard card or plastic scraper(Bird Strike Window Film)

🪟 Step-by-Step Installation Guide (Exterior Application Only)

1. Measure and Cut the Film

  • Measure the width and height of the window glass.

  • Cut the film to size, adding an extra ½ to 1 inch on all sides to allow for trimming.

2. Clean the Window Thoroughly

  • Use a lint-free microfiber cloth and a mild soap solution to clean the exterior glass surface, removing all dust, dirt, and grease.

  • Ensure the window is completely dry before proceeding.

3. Prepare the Slip Solution

  • In a spray bottle, mix water with a few drops of mild soap to create a slip solution.

  • This solution will help position the film and eliminate air bubbles.

4. Wet the Window

  • Generously spray the slip solution onto the exterior window surface, ensuring full coverage.

5. Remove the Protective Liner

  • Lay the film on a clean, flat surface with the liner side up.

  • Use two pieces of scotch tape on opposite corners to separate the liner from the adhesive side.

  • As you peel back the liner, spray the adhesive side with the slip solution to prevent sticking and ease application.

6. Apply the Film to the Window

  • Carefully place the wet adhesive side of the film onto the wet window surface.

  • Align the film, allowing the extra ½ to 1 inch to overlap the window edges.

  • The slip solution allows you to reposition the film as needed.

7. Squeegee Out Air and Moisture

  • Starting from the center, use a squeegee to press out air bubbles and excess slip solution, working towards the edges.

  • Keep the squeegee wet to prevent dragging or scratching the film.

8. Trim Excess Film

  • Once the film is smooth and bubble-free, use a sharp razor blade or utility knife to trim the excess film along the window edges.

  • Be cautious not to damage the window frame or seals.

9. Final Squeegee Pass

  • Wrap a hard card or squeegee in a paper towel and make a final pass over the film to remove any remaining moisture and ensure a secure bond.

10. Allow the Film to Dry and Cure

  • Let the film dry completely. Drying time may vary depending on temperature and humidity levels, but typically ranges from 24 to 48 hours.

  • Avoid touching or cleaning the film during this period.

🧼 Maintenance Tips

  • Clean the film with a mild soap solution and a soft, lint-free cloth.

  • Avoid using abrasive cleaners or tools that could damage the film.

  • Regular cleaning will maintain the film's effectiveness and appearance.
